Poem about the book of 2nd Samuel in the bible
Poem 2nd Samuel
In the book of Second Samuel, we find,
A tale of a king, humble and kind.
David, the shepherd, chosen by God,
Away from king Saul, he bravely trod.
Anointed by the prophet Samuel's hand,
He rose to rule the promised land.
Battles he fought, victories he won,
Guided by God, Jehovah's will be done.
Bathsheba's beauty caught his sight,
Led him astray, into the night.
Uriah's death, a sin so grave,
Yet, David found the grace to be saved.
Nathan, the prophet, brought the Lord's word,
David's repentance, the good Lord heard.
From his loins, Solomon rose,
Wisdom in abundance, God did bestow.
Despite the trials, despite the fall,
David each time returned to God's call.
He danced, he sang, his praises pure,
His psalms, in our hearts, forever endure.
God's pure love, a precious thing.
A gift from him to David the King
In his journey, may we find,
God's mercy and his grace are forever kind.
