A Poem inspired by the book of 1st Samuel in the bible
Poem 1st Samuel
In ancient Israel, a land so divine,
First Samuel unfolds, in the annals of time.
A tale of faith, and of kingdoms born,
In God's grand design, a narrative is worn.
Hannah's prayer, so fervent and deep,
God hears her plea, her promise to keep.
Samuel, the child, to the temple is led,
Voices of God whispering in his head.
Eli the priest, with vision so dim,
Foresees the future, so stark and grim.
His sons, so wicked, they heed not God's call,
A prophecy unfolds, predicting their fall.
Samuel, the prophet, God's word he imparts,
Guiding the Israelite's, teaching their hearts.
His sons, however, stray from the light,
The people demand a king, with all their might.
Saul, the first king, tall and strong,
Yet in God's eyes, he would soon be wrong.
Disobedience and impatience, his fatal flaw,
In the face of God's command, he withdraws.
David, the shepherd, anointed next in line,
In God's grand plan, he beautifully aligns.
Goliath he conquers, with a stone and sling,
A testament to the power of God, our King.
First Samuel, a tale of faith, kings and might,
Of God's chosen people, in His holy light.
An eternal story, of obedience and love,
Under the watchful eyes of the Lord above.
